Sponsor Family

Each year our club sponsors a family in need.  We try to choose a family with multiples.  We provide several gift baskets each year, monetary donations, Christmas presents, and gift certificates.  The majority of our fundraising efforts go into sponsoring this family.  Our Community Service committee chooses this family from a list obtained from several community organizations.

Monthly Donations

Every month we ask members to bring in some item for a worthy cause.  These items are specified in the program book and are purely voluntary.  Some months these items go to our sponsor family.

Holiday Party

Every year we hold a children's Christmas party.  The date and location is announced in the program book and newsletter.  Everyone who attends is asked to bring a plate of cookies.  The club provides punch and coffee.  Santa always stops for a visit and brings a sack of gifts. 

Holiday Tree Festival

Every year our club decorates and donates a themed tree to the Children's Hospital Holiday Tree Festival.  This is done by the Tree Committee, which is open to anyone in the club who would like to volunteer.  Money raised from the sale of the tree goes to Children's Hospital of Akron.

Program Book

When you join the club you will receive a yearly program book which outlines the activities for each month.  This includes hostess information, donations, speakers, and upcoming events.  There is also valuable information about OFMOTC and a list of members' addresses and phone numbers.

Our newsletter is published once a month from September to June and is sent to members and prospective members.   Prospective members are sent 3 complimentary issues.  If you choose to join, you will continue to receive this every month.  The newsletter contains information such as upcoming events, birthdays, fun articles, and minutes from the last meeting (in case you missed something and want to catch up).  There are also reminders of what is going on for the upcoming month.
